An Avionics Technician is a highly specialized electronics expert responsible for the "brains" of the aircraft. They install, inspect, test, and repair the sophisticated computer systems that control navigation, weather radar, radio communications, and flight control (autopilot) systems. This role is critical for ensuring that pilots have accurate data and reliable communication while navigating through all weather conditions and complex airspaces.
