The Queens Staircase and Fort Fincastle

The Queen's Staircase & Fort Fincastle: A significant landmark of Nassau, this walkway of 65 steps was carved out of solid limestone rock by 600 enslaved people between 1793 and 1794 to create an escape route from the fort above.

Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation

Located in the pink-colored Vendue House, a former slave auction site, this museum provides a poignant and thought-provoking account of the lives of enslaved people and the nation's journey to emancipation.

The Cloisters

The ruins of a 12th-century French monastery, brought brick by brick from France in the 1920s and reconstructed on Paradise Island, offering a serene and beautiful historical site.

Pompey Memorial

A memorial in Steventon dedicated to the slave Pompey who led a revolt in 1830 that was instrumental in the Emancipation Act of 1834.

Rolle Town and Rolleville

Visitors can explore the ruins of old cotton plantations and colonial tombs in these areas, offering a glimpse into the Loyalist era of the late 18th century.

SS Sapona

A vast cargo steamer that ran aground in a 1926 hurricane, its visible wreck is now a popular spot for divers and history enthusiasts.
