A Lifeguard for the adult holiday season operates in high-end environments such as luxury resort pools, heated rooftop lounges, or private beach clubs during festive winter retreats. Unlike standard seasonal lifeguarding, this role requires a high level of "concierge-style" hospitality combined with vigilant safety monitoring. You are responsible for overseeing aquatic areas where holiday celebrations—often involving increased guest volume and alcohol consumption—are taking place. The focus is on discreet but firm safety enforcement, ensuring a sophisticated atmosphere remains secure and enjoyable for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Surveillance & Safety: Maintain constant, proactive observation of the pool or waterfront to prevent emergencies, with a heightened focus on guests who may be impaired.
  • Policy Enforcement: Firmly but politely enforce facility rules regarding glass containers, diving, and capacity limits to maintain a refined environment.
  • Emergency Response: Execute water rescues, provide First Aid, and administer CPR/AED care immediately if an incident occurs.
  • Facility Aesthetics: Monitor the pool deck for cleanliness, ensuring towels are stocked and hazardous "slip and fall" areas are addressed promptly.
  • Chemical Monitoring: Perform regular water chemistry tests to ensure pH and chlorine levels meet health standards for high-occupancy holiday use.
 

 
Salary Expectations
Compensation for holiday lifeguards is often higher in luxury resort settings or private clubs.
  • Average Hourly Rate: Approximately $16.00 – $22.00 per hour.
  • Luxury Resort/Private Club: Professional lifeguards at elite properties can earn $24.00 – $30.00+ per hour.
  • Holiday Premiums: Many venues offer "Time-and-a-Half" for shifts on Christmas or New Year’s Day, along with potential seasonal bonuses for high-occupancy weeks.
  • Gratuities: While not traditional, lifeguards at private residential complexes or luxury cabana sections often receive holiday tips from regular guests.
