Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT)
Job Description
An Aircraft Maintenance Technician is the mechanical guardian of flight safety. They perform rigorous inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on aircraft structures, engines, and complex electrical systems to ensure every plane meets strict aviation safety standards. Working in hangars or on the airfield, they must be meticulous in their documentation and expert in the use of specialized diagnostic tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues before an aircraft is cleared for flight.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Routine Inspections: Conducting scheduled maintenance checks (A, B, C, and D checks) to ensure airworthiness and compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical malfunctions using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
  • System Repairs: Replacing or repairing worn components in engines, hydraulic systems, landing gear, and flight control surfaces.
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed, legally-binding records of all work performed, including part numbers, service times, and inspector sign-offs.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols to prevent Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and ensuring all tools and parts are accounted for after every task.
