Betty's Hope, established in 1650 near Pares Village, was Antigua's first and largest sugar plantation, crucial to the island’s colonial economy. Owned by the Codrington family for nearly 300 years, it now serves as an open-air museum and heritage site. Visitors can view restored stone windmill towers, ruins of the great house, and a small museum detailing the history of slavery and sugar production.
