Rusizi National Park, located just 15 km northwest of Bujumbura in Burundi, is a 90–100 (km^{2}) protected wetland established in 1980 to conserve diverse riverine ecosystems. It is famous for boat trips on the Rusizi River, large hippo populations, Nile crocodiles (including legends of "Gustave"), and over 200 bird species, making it a top, easily accessible tourist spot.
