Theth and Valbona are two remote, scenic villages in the heart of the Albanian Alps (Accursed Mountains), connected by a famous 15-17km mountain pass hike. Known for dramatic, rugged peaks, traditional guesthouses, and pristine nature, they form a premier hiking destination, typically visited between June and October. The villages are accessed via Shkodër and offer a, 2-3 day hiking adventure.
Theth: Known for its isolation, the stone "lock-in" tower (kulla), a historic church, and close proximity to the stunning Blue Eye of Theth (a natural pool) and the Grunas Waterfall.
Valbona: A valley surrounded by high, craggy peaks within the Valbona Valley National Park. It is generally more spread out than Theth, offering beautiful, quiet, and expansive scenery.
