The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh is the memorial site of the former Security Prison 21 (S-21), the most notorious interrogation and detention center of the Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979. Originally a secondary school called Tuol Svay Pray High School, it was converted into a secret facility where an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 people were imprisoned, tortured, and eventually executed.
